This case originates out of Palmer, Massachusetts and again began with a traffic stop. GOAL is not directly involved in the case. But we continue to warn non-residents about the danger of traveling in, or through, the Commonwealth with any firearm if you don’t have a license.

On Wednesday, December 10th, Kyle Culotta had his first appearance in court on firearm possession charges since his release from jail in late October. Kyle was pulled over and arrested in June 2025 for unlicensed possession of a firearm and held for more than 100 days after being declared a “dangerous person.”

A West Springfield License to Carry holder is facing five counts of possession of illegal “assault style firearms”, six counts of “untraceable firearms”, and one count of improper storage. The case originated from officers serving a abuse protection order that was later dismissed. The case addresses many of the issues facing lawful gun owners after the passage of Chapter 135 in 2024.
