THE AFTERMATH OF A USE OF DEADLY FORCE ENCOUNTER

You have won the physical fight and now you are face-to-face with the responding Police Officers.  While the officers are neither friend nor foe, they have a job to do.  They need to gather information, evidence, question witnesses and question you.  Make no mistake about it, this is a critical event for you.  How you present yourself to either the 9-1-1 Operator, the responding Police Officers and eventually to the Detectives is critical to your assertion of innocence.  Thinking that you have legally defended yourself and have nothing to hide may not be in your best interest.  Do you know your rights and why?  - KNOW THE LAW
