ESCALATING COORDINATED VIOLENCE
For years, the nation has witnessed organized well-funded political violence in our streets veiled as “mostly peaceful protests.” Cities were burned, looted, and destroyed with little or no consequences to the offenders. Now, we are witnessing highly coordinated “takeovers” by young people energized to create chaos.
The recent large scale attack in Newport Beach California is representative of a crumbling society we have all seen coming. This attack led to over 400 arrests! A female police officer was savagely beaten by a mob in North Charleston, South Carolina. Even in Boston over the July 4th holiday, police officers and citizens were attacked with firearms that led to gun fire.
Boston city officials were quick to hold press conferences and offer the usual hand wringing:
Boston City Councilor Worrell said. "We are calling for everyone to put down the guns, stop the community violence. It's too early in the summer and we are taking action. We are taking action by showing up together. We are taking action by meeting later today to devise plans and policies and areas of investment."
Just like Chapter 135 of 2024 (Massachusetts gun laws) that was heralded as common sense gun control failed to provide any relief from violent crime, city councilors calling for criminals to “put down their guns” will have the same null effect on crime. Also, what does “It’s too early in the summer..” mean? Is there a timeline for summer violence?
While citizens in the Commonwealth have their ability to defend themselves stripped away, the violence, now mob violence, is escalating. Some public officials are, once again, calling for summits with communities to find ways to quell the violence. The time for that approach has long since passed and failed. Our nation is under siege by coordinated violence and it is clear that public officials are more concerned about being politically sensitive than they are about dropping the hammer on the right people. A good indicator will be what consequences the 400 arrested in Newport Beach will face.
