1998 Accidental Death Rates

The figures represented in the chart below reflect those found in the Massachusetts Department of Public Health's January, 2002 Injury Data Update. The numbers released by our own state agency create a rather interesting dilemma. According to the supporters of our worst in the nation gun laws, the Massachusetts Gun Control Act of 1998 has resulted in a 50% decline of accidental deaths since 1998.
