GOAL Requests Assistance from MA Congresswoman Clark on Roadblocks to Civil Rights
Is the Congresswoman's concerns over roadblocks to civil rights real or just political theater?
In recent weeks Massachusetts Congresswoman Katherine Clark has made headlines in her fight against a potential voter ID law at the federal level. "They are trying to place more red tape, more paperwork, more bureaucracy between women and the ballot box…” said Clark in recent articles.
In countless articles Clark and other national politicians have expressed deep concerns over laws that would place “burdens” on citizens simply trying to exercise their civil rights. The Second Amendment community has faced these same issues for many decades.
“Obtaining a simple ID is nothing compared to what our community faces in the Commonwealth,” said Jim Wallace, Executive Director of GOAL. “We would jump at the chance to exercise our Second Amendment civil rights with something as simple as a photo ID. Her selective outrage on this matter just shows once again the Second Amendment right is treated as a second-class right by politicians who choose what communities they value over others.”
GOAL is formally sending a letter to the Congresswoman, and the entire Massachusetts Congressional delegation, in hopes that this epic turn around in policy will bring relief to their constituents back home.
