GOAL New Heritage Grant Program
“What we raise here stays here.”
In our continued effort
to protect and pass our shooting sports heritage, Gun Owners' Action League
has a new program called the GOAL Heritage Grant
Program. The program is designed to financially assist our affiliated
clubs and organizations establish or conduct shooting sports programs.
Over the past several
years GOAL has seen these programs begin to
flourish again. Most of our affiliated organizations have very eager
members willing to teach and pass on their knowledge of the shooting
sports. The only roadblock to their success is typically a financial
one. That is why GOAL created this new
grant program.
In 2006, we will began scheduling “GOAL Heritage Events”. Theses events
are regional banquets, raffles and other fund raisers. Half of all
of the net proceeds from these events will go into the GOAL Heritage Grant
Fund. The money from this fund will be made available to our affiliated
organizations through a grant process to aid in the establishment or
continuation of shooting sports programs.
If your club is
affiliated to GOAL and wants to start a junior rifle team but need help
purchasing the rifles, or conduct a Women on Target ™ program but needs help buying
the ammunition, or maybe your club wants to take a youth group on a
hunting trip but need help buying gear for the kids, the new GOAL
Heritage Grant Program could help your club accomplish these goals.
The other half of the
net proceeds will go to GOAL’s general fund to aid in the protection of
shooting sports heritage and our second amendment rights. The key to
this new program is “What we raise here stays here.” Many wonderful and
productive national organizations are raising millions of dollars every
year in Massachusetts. Unfortunately almost none of it ever comes back
to help us protect our rights as sportsmen and gun owners. That is why
GOAL has launched this new program to give the
gun owners of Massachusetts the ability to continue the fight to protect
and the ability to pass on our shooting heritage and
second amendment rights at the same time.
Fundraising
events for this program can be found on the GOAL Heritage Events
page. If you would like to take part
in an event planning committee in your area, please contact the GOAL
